Sunday, March 20, 2016, the Society of Mannequins held their annual presentation luncheon honoring "The Ten Best Dressed African American Women of Chicago and the Woman of the Year" at the beautiful DiNolfo's Banquet Hall in Mokena, IL.
This is one of the most anticipated, glamorous affairs of the year. Everyone was dressed to impressed. The ladies were adorned from head to toe in sheer beauty and the men were just as dapper in their elegant suits. The afternoon was filled with good food, great entertainment and a fashion show entitled "Fashion Chic in Chiberia."
The Society of Mannequins celebrated their sixteenth anniversary, the organization was formed in 2000 under the leadership of Lee L. Brown, to continue and expand the vision of the parent organization, the Association of Mannequins. The Society of Mannequins has grown considerably under the leadership of its creator Mrs. Lee L. Brown and the Governing Board Members Cecellia M. Smith, Cheryl Marshall Washington, Janet Blake-Greene, Lucille Banks-Jefferson, Valerie Davis, and Leotine Brown.
Their mission is to award scholarships to talented and needy African American students through the Emma Beck Scholarship Fund and the Continuing Scholars Program.
